Pi Day 2012

Today is a special holiday in the hearts of many nerds :) Pi day! 3.14! Kidlet has been eagerly anticipating this day. I actually thought ahead this time and when I was making his shamrock sandwich rolls I also made a special Pi bun for today!

Kidlet has a soy ham and manchego cheese sandwich on a Pi bun. On the side are checkered apple, grapes, and orange bell pepper. All packed up nicely in our Lunchbots Uno.

Kidlet is all ready for Pi day in his awesome shirt from ThinkGeek!

Shamrock Lunch

Today's lunch was pretty lazy. I had much more fantastic lunch plans but my post-surgery energy level is pretty darn low. The cute little picks and cupcake liner came in a set from Williams-Sonoma! I happen to have the best dad in the world who took me out for birthday lunch yesterday and then a little shopping at WS! Woo :)

Kidlet has a shamrock dinner roll, soy ham and manchego cheese on little leprechaun picks. On the side are grapes, strawberries, and oranges.

For all my loot lovers out there, here's what I got at Williams-Sonoma! A pan de mie bread pan, two sets of Star Wars cookie cutters, some silicone baking cups, french bread pan, tart pan, and St.Patrick's cupcake set!

This one has nothing to do with anything else but it's my favorite picture ever. On Saturday Whole Foods wanted to break a world record by snapping open a ton of huge parm cheese wheels. After the initial crack they let Kidlet help! He was in giant cheese heaven!

Green Eggs and "Ham" Bento

So, I had so many ideas for this last bento of Suess week but Kidlet wanted Green Eggs and Ham since that is what they are serving at school today. I did not dye the ham green because that seemed excessive. Kidlet was very happy about his green eggs!

Kidlet has soy ham on skewers, green deviled eggs, mini toasts, checkered apple, strawberries, and orange bell pepper.

I'm participating in a Blog Hop today in honor of Dr.Suess' Birthday!! Head over to the awesome Rina's blog Bento School Lunches for another super cool Suess inspired lunch. Then follow the link on her blog and keep hopping with us!

One Fish Two Fish Bento Lunch

I am having a lot of fun making Dr.Suess themed lunches this week! And even better, Kidlet has been loving it too! I figured we couldn't leave the week without a little One Fish, Two Fish love. I absolutely adore the fish in the car....he always cracks me up!

Barbaloot Bento

A friend of the Lorax, today's lunch includes a Barbaloot! These little teddy bear creatures are a favorite of mine and Kidlet's! Now normally I do not include sweets in a bento lunch, however there is a Lorax commercial out there showing a group of adorable Barbaloots with marshmallows raining down on them! So cute!  The Truffula tree marshmallows is an idea I stole from The Decorated Cookie.

Kidlet has a cheese Barbaloot sitting on a Biscoff sandwich. On the side are marshmallow Truffula tree, checkered apple, strawberries, goldfish crackers, and orange bell pepper

The Lorax Bento

The Lorax is of course getting a lot of attention lately with the new movie coming this week so I thought he would be the perfect start to a few Dr.Suess bento lunches you will see this week :)

Signed, Sealed, Delivered!

I must admit that I did not come up with this idea. I've seen it in lots of different places recently and thought it was super cute.

Today Kidlet got a Biscoff sandwich shaped like a letter with a cheese heart seal. n the side are grapes, checkered apple, blackberries, and strawberries.

It was snowing when I tried to take pictures this morning. I'm always curious, where do you take your lunch pictures? To get good lighting I take mine on to the porch in the morning but on snowy days like today it can get complicated!

It was actually actively snowing when I was trying to take my pics this morning!
