Wobbuffet cries for foooood!

Today the Kidlet asked me if I could make a Wobbuffet. Apparently this Pokemon will lay down mid battle if hungry and cry until it is fed. Kidlet finds this extremely amusing and was thrilled to see a hungry Wobbuffet in his bento!

Wobbuffet is made of cheese and sits on top of a PB sandwich alongside a checkered apple, cucumber, strawberries, and grapes.

Taking it easy with roll-ups

It has been a hectic week but Kidlet has to have lunch whether I feel like making it or not! Some days complicated bento are just not meant to be. Not that anything I ever do is overly complicated.

This bento is a perfect example of something tasty, colorful, and delicious. The best part is that it took me less than 5 minutes in my caffiene-less stupor and you can do it too!
Kidlet gets extremely excited about tortilla roll-ups. Proves that the simple things are sometimes the best I suppose! This time it was just peanut butter and honey but there are so many combinations you could choose from! I paired the roll-ups with pre-cut fruit and veg from my fridge for this super simple bento.
Other idea for roll-up fillings:
*lunchmeat (or soy "meat" in our case) with cheese
*Peanut butter with banana slices or any of your favorite jams
*Pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and any favorite topping
*Beans, rice, and avocado
The possibilities are really endless and who doesn't like food shaped like a pinwheel? You know you do. Go forth and produce delicious roll-ups!

Today Kidlet had a Poliwhirl pokemon made of cheese on top of a peanut butter sandwich with a checkered apple and pineapple pieces. I am longing for the farmers markets to start opening so I can have fresh and colorful local produce again!!

Tiger in the grass

Oooo shiny new blog :) I have decided to move away from LJ land with my blog and try my hand over here. We'll see if I can figure out how all of the buttons here work.

Today I ventured into the world of rice shapes. I generally stay away from them because I find working with nori to be very fiddly but Kidlet was craving some rice :D

In the jungle we have a super orange tiger rice ball, green beans, grapes, and skewered morningstar farms sausage. Nomnom!
