Bunnies and Chocolate

This lunch is from the last day of school before Spring Break. We got back from our Boston trip yesterday!

Kidlet had a smart dog veggie protein hot dog on a wheat bun with cheese bunnies on top. On the side are strawberries, green beans, and grapes.
On the way to Boston we stopped in Hershey, PA and toured Chocolate World! It was a lot of fun!

Here is Kidlet being a factory working and trying to catch Hershey Kisses in a little container! More about Boston and some fun bento finds tomorrow!

Pinewood Derby and a Giveaway Winner!

So last Friday was the Pinewood Derby! For those not familiar, it's a Cub Scout event where they make small wooden cars and race them down a track to win trophies...and just for fun!

In celebration Kidlet had a car bento with car cheese on top of a soy ham sandwich. On the side are pretzels, apple, and grapes.
This is Kidlet's Car. It is hard to see but it's brown with puppy stickers and a Littlest Pet Shop puppy driving.

Kidlet's car did not place in the top finishers BUT he was awarded the Sportsmanship trophy. They give one out every year, typically to the kid whose car doesn't make it down the ramp or falls apart and still keeps up a good attitude. Kidlet's car didn't break but he got the award for being so positive even after breaking his foot that morning!

And a Giveaway Winner!! Congrats to Sarah who has won my Rachael Ray Cookware giveaway! Thanks to everyone who participated it was so much fun!

Happy St.Patrick's Day

I apologize for my poor commenting habits recently. I am still reading everyone's posts but find myself too tired to comment :( Blah. I always knew how good a helper Kidlet was, but I never truly appreciated all of the things he did for himself and for me until he found himself unable! Now I am working for two! Phew!

Today Kidlet had a funny little St.Patty's Day fox on top of a peanut butter sandwich. On the side are pineapple, mandarin oranges, a little apple clover, and pretzels

Two sad things and one super cool

This is a sad bento. Why is this bento sad you may be asking? Because it was never eaten. Poor bento. I got a call at 11:30 this morning that Kidlet had fallen during gym and couldn't stand on his foot, and would I please come look at it. I always think it's funny when they ask me to come look at him. He looked good to me ;) His foot wasn't swollen and had no bruising but he was clearly in a lot of pain so I took him to the urgent care and lo and behold, the foot is broken! Poor Kidlet! So this is why his delicious bento was never eaten: We were in the urgent care all afternoon then I left it in the car which got hot and it became icky. It's especially sad since this is Kidlet's favorite food that we ordered from our favorite Indian restaurant for my bday

Sad bento containes paneer shahi korma with a cheese bunny and rice on the bottom tier. Top tier includes some kind of fried cheese thing *I forget the proper name*, chapati, grapes, and clementines.

Kidlet's broken foot! Ouch!

And because the rest of this post is so darn depressing, here is something fun! My delicious and amazing birthday cake! It combines my two greatest loves *apart from Kidlet of course* : Star Trek and Hello Kitty!! WOoo :D And it tastes amazing!

Rachael Ray Cookware review and Giveaway! - ENDED

It's my Birthday! Oh yeah! I'm now a whopping 27 years old. I think that it's possible that my exhaustion this week has been caused by my inching closer to the 30 mark. Yikes. In celebration of my elderly status *according to Kidlet lol* I have a giveaway and review! Woo!

I recently had the opportunity to try out some Rachael Ray Cookware courtesy of CSN stores. I was really excited about this because I have been harboring a secret desire to own Rachael Ray products for a long time. Shhh. :)

I tried out the Bubble & Brown 2 -Piece Stoneware Baker Set and I must say that it's even better than I thought it would be! The thing that really drew me in is the handles! I am a tornado of disaster in the kitchen and have broken many an innocent casserole dish. Having two super sturdy handles is perfect for me!

I made four different dishes this week using the stoneware set! I started out with Kidlet's request of Pasta Bake. It cooked perfectly and one of the great things about this cookware is that it can go from oven to table looking nice! No need to switch to a serving dish! Additionally I made cornbread, roast pork, and stuffed french toast. They all cooked beautifully in these dishes.

Now, the packaging said that these can go in the freezer, fridge, oven, and are machine washable. I can attest to the fridge, oven, and machine washable part! They cleaned up very nicely! I personally would never put them in the freezer. For one thing, with the handles they would take up a lot of space that I just don't have. They also lack a lid meaning they would need to be covered with plastic wrap or something like that and I prefer to avoid using those kinds of products. The handles are my favorite part but they are also the only downside if you prefer a dish that comes with a lid. No lid here!

Overall I was super impressed with these dishes and will be using them for many years to come I am sure! Do you want to know the best part of all of this? YOU can WIN one of these sets! And you can choose the color you like! WOOOHOO! :) The set comes in Blue *which I chose*, Green, Yellow, and Chocolate.

Mickey Pancakes

We're getting ready for the Pinewood Derby here which is basically exhausting. Who knew tiny wooden cars could be so much work? I will be glad for the weekend :) This isn't even today's bento. Today I let Kidlet buy pizza at school. *gasp* This is how exhausted I am this week.

Yesterday's bento was a mickey pancake on top of other mini pancakes. Alongside are a checkered apple, grapes, soy sausage on a skewer, and a little bottle of syrup
