Big Bang Theory: Soft Kitty Bento Lunch

I've been meaning to make Kidlet a soft kitty lunch for a long time but it always ends up on the bottom of the list. When we got our CuteZCute set and I saw the kitty I knew it would be perfect! I'm a little surprised that I got away with the heart shaped cup. I thought he might ask me to change it out for something else but he saw the lunch and loved it! Woo!

Kidlet has a Boca Chik'n patty kitty sandwich with cheese accents, cheese words, salad, checkered apple, and a little heart container of Unreal candies.

Cute Panda Lunch

Today we got to try out our new CuteZCute Bento Cutter. It's really cute and offers an easy way to make your lunch adorable! When I first saw this set I was sure that Kidlet would not allow this for 6th grade lunch so I was shocked when I showed it to him and he liked it!! My fears over no cute Middle School lunches have been unfounded :)

Kidlet has two panda face peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. On the side is a salad with dressing, checkered apple, peaches, and Horizon Organic milk box.

Doctor Who: The Power of Three

Today's lunch was Kidlet's request. When we were watching the new Doctor Who on Saturday he picked out this quote as his favorite! For anyone unfamiliar, in this episode the Doctor, who has two hearts, loses function of one of them. When shocked back to working condition he flails around and yells "Welcome Back Lefty!!" Very funny stuff :)

Also, check out my buddy Karen's two Who lunches today at What's In Our Lunch Bags?

Kidlet has a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with natural fruit leather accents. On the side are bell peppers with dressing, grapes, and checkered apple.

Talk Like A Pirate Day Lunch and Giveaway Hop!

Arrrr Mateys. Today be Talk Like a Pirate Day. Of course last night while I was planning an easy lunch, Kidlet got wind of what was happening and BEGGED for Queen Anne's Revenge. Oh sure, he couldn't want something easy and generic like a Jolly Roger, he has to want a very specific Pirate ship. *headdesk*

Kidlet has Queen Anne's Revenge made from cheese and food coloring sitting on top of a Boca chik'n patty sandwich. On the side are checkered apple, grapes, oranges, bell pepper, and dressing container.

And now for the even more fun Giveaway, Pirate style!

Every Blogger Buccaneer in this here Hop has a piece of the treasure map! You'll need to "collect" each piece and put them together in the right order to find the treasure! You'll want some parchment and a quill, to keep a log with each clue and each number, because there are 39 scurvy pirates running amok with 39 pieces o' the map to collect! 37 pieces will guide you to the hidden treasure (by spelling out the URL where you can enter to win!) and there are 2 bonus pieces with the "secret passwords" to get two chances to win some pirate booty!

This here's my piece o' the map! Good luck, Mateys!

Now HOP on over to the next lunch and the next piece of the puzzle at Rachel's Random Ramblings

Cooking with Trader Joe's Cookbook: EasyLunchBoxes!

Guess what? I am in a book! How cool is that?! We have loved EasyLunchBoxes for many years and earlier this year I was given the opportunity to be a part of their cookbook. Can't pass up a chance like that! And after months and months of hard, back-breaking work (theirs, not mine! my part was quick and easy haha) it is finally here!!!!  I just sent in my submissions and they were turned in to cookbook gold. So the lunches you see were designed by the contributors but made and photographed out of our hands :)

Cooking with Trader Joe's Cookbook: Easy Lunch Boxes is 272 pages of lunch packing epicness. With sections like Pack it Playful, Pack a Snack, Pack it Veggie, and Pack it Gluten-Free there is something for EVERYONE! The beautiful pictures and delicious recipes make this cookbook an instant winner. And I am not just saying that because I'm in it :P Even if I were not one of the fantastic contributors to this book, I would recommend it, it's just that good!

Want a sneak peak of my pages? Check it out!

Make Your Own Pizza Lunch

I've seen these make your own lunchables type lunches all over the place these days but the first time I ever saw the make your own pizza was on my buddy Cristi's site BentOnBetterLunches! Super easy to put together and so much fun! And it was the perfect lunch in which to debut our new lunchbox addition: EasyLunchboxes Mini Dippers. Since Easylunchboxes aren't leakproof they have come out with small leakproof containers to fit inside for when you must have saucy and liquidy foods!

Kidlet has a Goldfish flatbread cut in half, a mini dipper of pizza sauce, and a mini dipper of cheese and soy ham squares. On the side he has a salad, strawberries, blackberries, and pineapple.

Here's a shot of the Mini-Dippers with the lids on. Aren't they cute? They open up a lot of great new possibilities for lunch time!

Gumball Machine Lunch

Kidlet was ridiculously excited about lunch this morning. And not even because I packed him a cute and delicious meal. Oh no, he was excited about the strawberry milk. He never really drinks flavored milk because I just don't buy it so when he saw the little box he looked like he had just gotten the best present of his life. It's good to be easily amused :)

Kidlet has a peanut butter Gumball Machine sandwich made with our lunch punch and it has natural fruit leather accents. On the side are grapes, strawberry, blackberries, a little salad, and a Horizon Organic Strawberry Milk.

Easy Salad Lunch

I'm loving the fact that Middle School now means the kids have enough time to eat. 30 minutes instead of the Elementary 15. Of course now they don't get recess which I think is insane. They are still kids and still need to run around, but anyway. Longer lunch time means Kidlet has time to actually eat his food! He loves to eat salad and so that is what he gets today!

Kidlet has a salad of lettuce, carrots, and bell peppers. The little puppy container holds Asiago Caesar Dressing (one of the few vegetarian Caesar's we can easily find!) In the small side there are blueberries and a container with shredded cheese and croutons for the salad. In the bigger container there is a checkered apple and some soy ham and cheese skewers.
