Happy Halloween 2012

Happy Halloween everyone! :) I know it's nearly over now but it's been a very busy day here. For School and for Trick-or-Treat Kidlet decided to go as The Doctor from Doctor Who. He chose to be The Doctor mid regeneration from 10 to 11. He was originally a zombie but wasn't allowed to wear the costume to school because of the blood so he switched last minute!

For lunch Kidlet had a Halloween kitty made from cheese and food colors on top of a Boca Chik'n patty sandwich. Above it are a few Trader Joe's yogurt stars. On the side he has a salad, container of dressing, and a satsuma.

Kidlet as mid-regeneration 10/11 :) He wouldn't smile because he said regeneration was painful.

The Piggy in the Puddle

This lunch has been in the back of my mind ever since we got our CuteZCute cutters! It is the first thing I thought of when I saw the cute piggy.

The Piggy in the Puddle has been one of my favorite books since I was a little and I loved sharing it with Kidlet as he grew up. We still like to quote it because quite frankly, it's hilarious.

Kidlet has two Piggy peanut butter sandwiches with fruit leather accents and fruit leather NOPE! On the side he has pudding mud, strawberries, and cucumber Soap!

Awareness Ribbon Breakfast Bento!

I made this quick breakfast bento for Kidlet on Friday morning since he did not have school. The cute cranberry ribbon bagel came from Panera and Kidlet loved it! He is very passionate about Breast Cancer Awareness since his Gramma is a survivor and my Aunt lost her battle with it a few years ago.

Kidlet has a toasted cranberry bagel with crunchy peanut butter, strawberries, and a Honey Nana Chobani Champions yogurt.

Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Bento

Kidlet's school is having a Pink Out today which means they all wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Of course he waited until this morning to tell me he wanted something pink so he ended up wearing my pink converse shoes and a couple of hairbands on his wrists :P We discovered that I do own a lot of pink but most of it has Hello Kitty on it and apparently that is not acceptable. But I did get to make a very pink lunch which he was actually really excited about!

Kidlet has Fairy Bread (peanut butter sandwich with sprinkles) shaped like a support ribbon and some natural fruit leather letters in the main compartment. On the side he has cucumber with dressing, strawberry, blackberries, and pineapple. On the bottom is a Horizon Organic Strawberry milk.

I love that wearing my shoes was his idea and he rocked them!

Tasty Curry Lunch

Today's lunch is inspired by Red Dwarf. The character Lister loves a curry just like Kidlet! And of course a mango juice on the side :) Kidlet and I are really enjoying making our way through this series! We've finished 3 seasons and have 7 more to go!

Kidlet has curry and rice in his thermos. On the side is a Chobani Champions Very Berry yogurt, clementine, strawberries, and blackberries. He has a Mango Pineapple juicebox to drink.

Vichyssoise Lunch

It's getting colder here so I've been breaking out the soup recipes! Vichyssoise is a potato leek soup and it is one of Kidlet's favorite meals. He was so excited when I made it for dinner last night and insisted on having it again for lunch!

Kidlet has a thermos of vichyssoise. In the LunchBot Uno he has olive oil and rosemary bread, carrots, string cheese pieces, strawberries, blackberries, and a clementine orange.

Batman Bento

I have a long list of bento ideas and not enough days of lunch packing to catch up on them! I guess that's a good thing :) Then I won't ever be stuck for what to do. Batman has been on the list for quite some time! Kidlet and I both love Batman! We even have matching Batman blankets :P

Lunch is packed in Kidlet's tiffin today. This box has remained largely unloved in the past due to it's size but now it is just right!

Top round has a Boca Chik'n patty sandwich with cheese Batman logo. Bottom left round has a salad with carrot bats. Bottom right round has pretzels, blackberries, strawberries, and a checkered apple.

Halloween Peanut Butter and Jelly Pockets

Halloween is coming soon! Can you believe it? It always seems to sneak up on me once the school year starts. You can get some awesome Halloween lunch inspiration today by following our Blog Hop! Just click the button at the end of my post to hop over to the next lunch :)

I used some refrigerated pie dough to make these little PB&J pockets. Just cut out shapes, fill with whatever you want, pinch the sides and bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes! Easy :D

Kidlet has 2 PB&J Pockets, carrots and cucumber in the main compartment. On the side there is Vanilla-Orange Chobani Champions yogurt with a natural fruit leather spooky cat shape, strawberries, blackberries, and an apple bat.

Ice Cream Lunch

I scream, you scream, we all scream for sandwiches that may or may not look like ice cream! :) Kidlet hurt my bento feelings by staring at this lunch for a long time before asking "So....what on earth is that supposed to BE?" *sigh* Oh well, once I explained he loved it :P

Kidlet has two ice cream cone shaped sandwiches, carrots, radish, strawberries, a checkered apple, and a Chobani Champions yogurt

Zombie Chili Lunch

I would like to start by saying that I do not approve of this lunch. I hate zombies. They scare the crap out of me. Things that die should stay dead and should not try to eat my brains. Of course a buddy of ours sent us a giant zombie hand food pick and Kidlet LOVES it. *shudder* so he requested a zombie lunch.

Kidlet has a thermos of chili with a zombie hand and grave pick.On the side are fritos and a small container of sour cream for the chili. He also has checkered apples, carrots, cucumber, radish, and a container of dressing for the veg.
