Red Gold tomatoes are a staple in our house! Did you know that they are a 70 year old family owned company? I love that! Right now they are running a huge sweepstakes on their Facebook page but there are only 2 days left to enter so hurry!!!
I was lucky enough to get some delicious Red Gold in the mail to try out some summer grilling recipes. Unfortunately we discovered that my grilling skills are somewhat lacking and my burger recipe had to take on a new life. I tried making burgers with the Chili Ready Diced Tomatoes but mine refused to shape in to patties despite my draining the tomatoes properly. So, instead of burgers we ended up with sloppy joes!
Chili Sloppy Joes with Red Gold:
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 can Red Gold Chili Ready Diced Tomatoes
1 can black beans
1 can condensed Tomato soup
1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
1 TBSP Chili powder
Directions:
1.) Brown ground beef and drain.
2.) Over medium heat add all ingredients to the ground beef and cook until simmering.
3.) Spoon on a bun and enjoy! Yum!

I made what we call cowboy chili tonight. Its got fresh from the farmers market corn in it!
ReplyDeleteOh that sounds delicious! There's nothing better than farm fresh corn! Yum!
DeleteI don't even like black beans (or any beans, unless you count 'green' beans), but that looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteYou could easily leave out the beans! I just added them since we had them laying around :D
DeleteI'm not sure if my comment went through because it took me to a sign in page. What I said (in case it didn't) was that I don't even like beans (unless you count 'green' beans), but that looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so delicious! I am going to try this!

ReplyDeleteOoh that looks good. Now I want cowboy chili. Beans are a magical fruit, the more you eat the more you toot. :)
ReplyDeleteRemember Uma Thurman's joke from Pulp Fiction? That one. You're welcome.
ReplyDeleteWe may have to try that. Yummy!!
ReplyDeleteThis recipe looks like it'd be a good fit for our family but I'd have to make a meatless version of it....my wheels are turning now.:)
ReplyDeleteWe love the Red Gold with green chiles. They would make their way into this recipe and we would substitute Trader Joes Soy Chorizo for the meat. :)
ReplyDeleteI made Sloppy Joes yesterday. Yours looks better! Haha
ReplyDeleteThis looks good--thanks for sharing!
