Sandwich Dumpling Turkey Tutorial

I've been making these sandwich turkeys for Kidlet for 3 years now! I was thinking it's high time for a tutorial! They are so cute and easy to make!


Main Compartment: Peanut butter and jelly turkey

Large Side Compartment: Salad

Small Side Compartment: Satsuma


Here is what you will need:
  • Gyoza (dumpling) press
  • Circle cookie cutter
  • Filling of choice
  • Sugar eyes
  • Small carrot
  • Bread



Cut a circle out of a piece of bread. It helps if you use fresh soft bread.


Put your circle of bread in the Gyoza press and add your filing. Don't use too much or it will spill out!


Press your dumpling press together


Repeat until you have the number of turkey rump feathers you need. ie: how many sandwiches your kiddo will eat. I use three here.


Next use the heel of the bread and cut out a turkey head using kitchen shears. Decorate with sugar eyes and a carrot triangle.


Attach the head to the bottoms and you have an adorable turkey!
